SHORT BIO:

Skip Bolen specializes in shooting stills photography (with Jacobson Sound Blimps) for film production and promotion - including unit, episodic, and behind-the-scenes images of actors, crew and production. Experienced in capturing images in very low light, challenging light situations, and challenging work environments. Member of IATSE Local 600 (International Cinematographers Guild). Extensive archive of images. Complete pro digital and film service. Available to shoot in New Orleans, New York and Los Angeles. Will travel and work anywhere. Also specializing in documentary and special event photography. Skip Bolen is also a southern photographer of musicians, architecture, lifestyle and the culture of New Orleans. His photographs are in public and private collections, among them the Ogden Museum of Southern Art in New Orleans and the Louisiana State Museum and his photographs have appeared in The New York Times, New York Magazine, Rolling Stone, Vogue, New York Post, US Weekly, Elle, MTV, VH-1, Downbeat Magazine, Jazz Times Magazine, Where New Orleans and many others.

The geek stuff: Complete pro-digital and film service - I'm shooting with a pro Canon EOS-1D Mk II N, Canon EOS 5D Mk II, Canon EOS 7D and Canon G10 camera shooting RAW (and jpeg) format, processing on an Apple Mac Pro 8-Core Tower with Apple 30 inch monitors, Apple-Intel MacBook Pro laptop both with Adobe Photoshop CS4, Adobe Lightroom, FotoStation Pro and Photo Mechanic. I also shoot film with a Leica R8 system.
